Our Mission
We’re working to develop standard product labels to inform people about a product’s accessibility for different types of disabilities.
Standard Scoring
We are creating accessibility labels to be consistent for all types of technology products.
The accessibility scoring used on the labels will be based on agreements (consensus voting) of our industry members.
Our Goals
- Develop the new industry consensus labeling and scoring systems.
- Develop the necessary accessibility test process validation standards to ensure that the results used in the labels are accurate and dependable.
- Provide education and outreach resources to promote the understanding and adoption of labels and processes.
How (and Why) We Create Reporting Standards
You may have seen some accessibility features on some everyday products. You may also be aware that there are already standards for web and mobile app accessibility, and you may have had excellent, good, or poor experiences with particular websites and apps.
Inconsistency is the problem. Accessibility is often not a consideration. Sometimes when it is a consideration it is not done well.
